Colin has lived in the All Saints Ward for many years. He knows the issues that affect both it and the Town well. He has served both as an active campaigner and committed volunteer in community groups and local charities, where he will have met and worked with many of you in the best interests of our community. His first experience as a Town Councillor was triggered working with those passionate to save Birchanger Wood from a housing development. After serving as a magistrate he was re-elected to the Town Council in 2007, soon chairing the new Environment Committee. He became an active Deputy Mayor before a successful term as Town Mayor. His term saw major town enhancements and innovations in the way the Council was led and organised. Colin has shown that he acts swiftly and effectively as your Councillor. With your vote he will continue to assist residents with their concerns by tenaciously focusing on workable solutions.

His desire for action and not just talk has led him to be an active campaigner and a committed ‘hands-on’ volunteer. He has served as a school governor, a trustee of various organizations as well as a magistrate and your Town Mayor. In 2007 he was elected to both Town and District Councils. At East Herts District Council (EHDC) he has been active on community and highways matters, pushing for and securing various improvements with the full involvement of local people and their Residents’ Associations, such as the widening of the Haymeads junction.

Colin has striven to keep all three Resident's Associations in All Saints fully informed and engaged with local developments. He has secured extra Police support for All Saints Ward and has worked on community safety issues across the Town. He is also on the partnership groups of our Sure Start children’s centre and the local housing association; having regularly walked the estates with Neighbourhood Officers over the last four years to ensure a better quality of life for all our residents. At EHDC Colin also played a leading role on the Human Resources Committee and he has for three years been Chair of Community Scrutiny, reviewing policy and performance in housing, health, community safety and leisure. Such scrutiny led to major cost savings to the Taxpayer as well as delivering the enhanced Grange Paddocks facility.
